Inappropriate Conduct & User Banning Policy
Last updated: October 2026
What's Revving This Weekend exists to support Australia and New Zealand's motoring community in a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment.
1. Purpose
This policy outlines unacceptable behaviour and how WRTW handles warnings, restrictions, and bans to keep the platform safe for enthusiasts, clubs, organisers, and newcomers.
2. Inappropriate Conduct
Users must not engage in behaviour that harms others, disrupts the platform, or undermines the community. The following actions are considered inappropriate and may lead to moderation action:
2.1 Abuse, Harassment & Discrimination
- Personal attacks, threats, intimidation, or bullying
- Hate speech or discrimination based on race, gender, sexuality, disability, religion, or nationality
- Harassing event organisers, clubs, or other users
2.2 Illegal or Dangerous Activity
- Promoting illegal street racing, hooning, or unsafe driving
- Sharing instructions for illegal modifications
- Encouraging violence, vandalism, or criminal behaviour
2.3 Spam & Misuse of Platform
- Posting irrelevant, repetitive, or misleading content
- Fake events, false information, or deceptive listings
- Advertising unrelated products or services
2.4 Inappropriate Content
- Explicit, graphic, or offensive imagery
- Excessive profanity
- Content unsuitable for a general motoring audience
2.5 Impersonation & Misrepresentation
- Pretending to be another user, club, or organisation
- Misrepresenting affiliation with WRTW
2.6 Misuse of Notifications, @Tags, Reactions & KidZone
- Using @Tag mentions to harass, spam, or impersonate other users
- Abusing push notifications or the notification system to disrupt others
- Manipulating emoji reactions through coordinated, automated, or deceptive means to artificially inflate or suppress engagement
- Manipulating competition reaction counts, submitting misleading competition entries, or breaching the WRTW Competition Terms, which may result in disqualification and moderation action
- Posting inappropriate content in KidZone, which is designed to be family-friendly
3. Moderation Actions
WRTW uses a tiered approach to keep the community safe while giving users a fair chance to correct behaviour.
Informal Warning
For minor issues or first-time offences. User is notified of the issue and expected to correct behaviour immediately.
Formal Warning
Issued when behaviour continues or is more serious. May include temporary restrictions on posting or event creation.
Temporary Suspension
Used for repeated violations or significant misconduct. User loses access to posting, commenting, and event creation for a set period.
Permanent Ban
Applied when a user repeatedly violates policy, commits a severe breach (e.g., threats, hate speech, illegal activity), or poses an ongoing risk to the community.
Non-Disclosure of Ban Reasons
WRTW may suspend or permanently ban users at its sole discretion without providing specific reasons. This protects the community, prevents abuse of the moderation process, and ensures platform integrity. Banned users may not create new accounts to bypass restrictions.
4. Event Organiser Responsibilities
Event organisers must ensure their listings follow WRTW guidelines. Organisers who repeatedly post misleading, unsafe, or inappropriate events may face suspension or removal of organiser privileges.
5. Reporting & Review
Users can report inappropriate behaviour directly through the app. WRTW reviews all reports and may request additional information if needed.
Users may request a review of a suspension or ban. WRTW will reassess the case, but final decisions rest with the moderation team and may not include disclosure of internal reasoning.
6. Final Notes
WRTW reserves the right to update this policy as the platform grows.
By using the app, users agree to follow these guidelines and contribute to a respectful, safe, and community-driven motoring environment.
